London Calling

We have two different friends who are currently in the UK. One is on a business trip and the other is on vacation visiting friends in London.

How I envy them as London is one of our favorite spots, an uber boudica pick. There is so much to do...great architecture and history, museums, shopping, plays and concerts, restaurants for every palate, pubs and clubs.

We have a tradition whereby our first meal upon arriving in London is at Harrods Pizzaria. We have been doing that for years and it is a fascinating people watching spot. How often do you get to see such an international crowd eating pizza and sipping champagne? We have also eaten at the Sushi Bar but don't find it as interesting.

The store has an amazing variety; you can buy anything from organic tea to a suitcase (I have bought both) and everything in between.

One of my purchases consisted of animal feeding bowls which I carried in my suitcase for weeks while we traveled through the UK. I'm not really sure the critters fully appreciated that gift.

It is an experience to visit the store and take in all the floors and departments including the restrooms which are grand and extremely clean. Keep your meal receipt for entry into the WC. And, yes, Harrods even has hot Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!
