London Specials And To Do's

Here are some great theatre specials for slightlynorthofworth readers who will be in London this summer...The Playhouse Theatre in London is offering a special discount on tickets for Tablet Hotel members to see the hit The Harder They Come.
The play is based on the iconic 70's film that launched Jimmy Cliff into the spotlight; a country boy making good. The discounted price for Tablet Hotels members is £32.50 - regular tickets cost £50. To purchase tickets call +44(0)870 060 6631 and quote "TABLET" to redeem this offer. This price is available for all Monday - Friday performances until July 18th, 2008.
A classic London theatre "can't miss" is a special performance of
MAMMA MIA!at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Monday, June 30 which will coincide with the movie world premier of MAMMA MIA! - THE MOVIE at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square.
During the interval there will be an exclusive preview of behind-the-scenes footage from the making of MAMMA MIA! - THE MOVIE and the occupier of one lucky seat number will win the trip of a lifetime and be flown to New York City for the US Premiere of MAMMA MIA! - THE MOVIE (click on link to view the trailer) on 16th July 2008. Complimentary wine and soft drinks will be offered during the interval for all those attending this very special performance and you will be given a MAMMA MIA! goody bag as you leave the theatre.
Tickets are available at regular prices, £20 - £55 on a first come, first served basis, so call the Box Office now on +44(0)844-482-5115.
MAMMA MIA! has been delighting fans for a decade and it is a favorite of Mr. snow (and myself). We first saw it while in London in 2000; it is absolutely wonderful and an uber boudica pick!
As if you aren't busy enough while you are in London, the King Tut And The Golden Age Of The Pharaohs exhibit is back in town. After 35 years, a new and expanded showing of the King Tut collection of objects will be at the O2 Dome until August 31, 2008. If you haven't seen this magnificent display of Egyptian treasures, you really must visit. Discovered in 1922 by British Archaeologist, Howard Carter, the tomb is the only one of its era to be found intact and full of indescribable riches. King Tutankhamun is the most popular and famous of the Egyptian pharaohs and the legend of a mysterious curse still stirs the imagination.
Remember, tell them slightlynorthofworth sent you.
Until next time...
