Live from our balcony overlooking St. Stephens Green in Dublin...Insider tip 1 - Always get a deluxe balcony room at the Fitzwilliam. The rooms are cutting edge luxury boutique but not very large so having a balcony is a must for additional living space. Besides, it's the best place to have wine and cheese - or Guinness - and not have to worry about getting back home should you partake too much. Note to self...I only have to fall into bed, literally! Mr. snow and I have stayed here for our past several visits and love the convenient location...St. Stephens Green, Grafton Street, Temple Bar, etc. During our 2005 U2 Vertigo concert visit to the Fitzwilliam, the manager personally sent us a wedding anniversary gift. Very thoughtful and good business. An uber boudica pick!
Insider tip 2 - Go for the splurge - it is a "must" to order a room service breakfast so you can sip tea, or something stronger like an Irish coffee or Guinness, and relax on your balcony overlooking St. Stephens Green. Yes, even at breakfast, "Guinness is Good!" 
Playing tourist, a visit to Dublin would not be complete without a Temple Bar photo op...that bastion of Irish friendliness, great music, good conversation and Guinness. They are known for their Guinness and Oysters combo. Classic.

Tomorrow night Kaiser Chiefs and Republic of Loose are the supporting acts and on Monday, it's The Script and Bell X1. Don't tell Mr. snow but, as much as I love U2, I am just as excited to be seeing the fabulous supporting acts! Click here to see their tour dates.

Since we were here in 2005 for their Dublin leg of the Vertigo tour we can state, "there is no better place to experience U2 than in their hometown of Dublin." It is beyond awesome; words can never describe the phenomenon.
Hang out at The Clarence - specifically The Octagon Bar - and you never know who you will run into, especially since Bono and The Edge are the owners. We met people who had traveled, like us, from around the world to attend the concerts. In particular, we met a really nice couple from Australia - the ultimate die hard fans. Wish I could locate their contact info but we're hanging in The Octagon so we might see them, again. You find that it really is a small world with few degrees of separation.
P.S. The Edge rocks!
