From the ASPCA, "Approximately 3 to 4 million adoptable pets are euthanized every year in the United States, and this year could prove worse as many people facing the troubled economy are being forced to make the heartbreaking decision to relinquish their beloved pets. The ASPCA believes our collective actions matter. That's why they have created initiatives that span the country. Each day they work with partners across the United States, who support the life-saving programs to find homes for adoptable animals and help make sure pets who already have homes stay put, where they belong."
Consider adopting a shelter/homeless animal. Our feral/homeless critter children are the lights of our lives. I can't fathom having to give up my furry babes and I always make sure they have food in their mouths before I worry about myself.

For many worthwhile animal and environmental causes, go to slightly north of worth...avenue critter picks.
