Week 13...College GameDay is in Gainesville for the always exciting rivalry between the #1 UF Gators vs FSU Seminoles. Kickoff for this smackdown is 3:30 pm on CBS. Factoid - The Gators seniors are 46 - 6, the winningest senior class in UF and SEC history. With 21 consecutive wins, they are going for their 22nd against FSU.
Only a couple of weeks ago, I wrote that GameDay had not broadcast from a Gator home game even though they are ranked #1. Think somebody at ESPN is reading slightly north of worth...avenue! Hey Lee, what's your prediction?
For those in Gainesville for the game, you have to try Satchel's Pizza in NE Gainesville. Not in the best of locations but that only adds to the quirkiness of this fabulous pizza joint. Pizza, salad and calzone are the only menu items plus homemade baked goods. BTW, there is only one type of salad - Satchels salad - a choice of small or large and it is always fresh. Mr snow and I have our regular order of deep dish with roasted red peppers, black olives, fresh basil and feta cheese. A work of art and mmmm good! We have waited up to 1 1/2 hours for a table so you know the pizza is something special.
Insider tip - the "lightnin salvage" - combo old school five & dime/small flea market/antique store - behind the main building has tables where you can eat a takeout pizza and order drinks.
