Capri Sandals and Limoncello Perfecto!

One of my favorite things, Canfora Sandals, in Capri, Italy has been making handmade sandals for the uber elite since 1946. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was a frequent customer and the sandal christened "K" was named for her.

Long coveted by such notables as Princess Margaret, Princess Caroline, Maria Callas, Sophia Loren, Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart, these sandals are favored for their excellent craftsmanship. Yes, they also have men's sandals.

Canfora Sandals are popular among the world's top models and are featured regularly in international publications such as Brutus, Balla, Elle, Figaro, In Style, Ginza, The Purple Book, Panorama.

I favor the Silvia collection which is decorated with daises and comes in very Lilly shades of green, fuchsia, multi colored, turquoise and yellow.

Located at 3 Via Camerelle, the selection of sandals is staggering. It is not uncommon for visitors to buy a half dozen pairs to take home. If you can't go in person, ordering online is quite easy and no passport is required!

Should you travel to Capri, here is a quick list of must do's... the Blue Grotto which is world renowned for its intense blue colors and magical silvery light which emanates from objects immersed in the water.

The Faraglioni are three magnificent rocks that have survived erosion, landslides and all manner of coastal corrosion. The ancient Romans were particularly fond of this area of Capri. Now it is a popular spot for the mega wealthy and their estates.

Monte Solaro is the highest point on the island and you get a spectacular 360 degree view.

A tour of the island via boat is a great way to sea the dramatic coastline which is lined with caves, creeks and bays. On sunny days it is easy to view the seabed and the abundance of sea life.

Capri is an absolutely stunning destination and everyone should see it. I still remember sitting at an outside cafe (drinking a limoncello, of course)and the waiter asking me how to spell cantaloupe in English so he could advertise it on the menu. I must have looked like a good speller!

Getting there is easy via Naples or Sorrento. Capri is definitely an uber boudica pick and don't forget your camera!
