Five Star Opening For Capella In County Cork

Luxury hotel group Capella Hotels and Resorts has opened its five star Castlemartyr in Cork, Ireland. The castle, from which the village takes its name, dates from 1210 and the original castle and its lands were owned by the Knights Templar.

This heritage is proudly displayed in the form of the Templar Cross, which is the centerpiece of the resorts coat of arms.

The luxury resort is set on 220 acres and consists of a grand 17th century manor house that sits adjacent to the 1000 year old castle. Most recently, it was a boy's school.Castlemartyr has 109 guestrooms and suites, an 18 hole Ron Kirby designed golf course, The Auriga Spa and fine dining.
There are many area activities including outdoor sporting events, cultural events, Cork Week for world class sailing, July 12-July 18, 2008, and A Taste of Cork, June 27-June 29, 2008.
A definite uber boudica pick.
Until next time...
